St Brendans Sixth Form College in Bristol has recently installed solar panels on its roof which were supplied and fitted by PV Systems.
The panels were installed as part of its plans to become involved in the national ‘green colleges’ initiative which aims to showcase green education and help encourage sustainable development.
Total system output of the panels is 22.08kWp and they will help power the schools computers, lighting and other electrical equipment.
Terry Sweeney commented: “The panels will certainly support the college’s aims to become ‘green’. Panels like these are suitable for installation on large roofs and terraces particularly for public buildings.”
The work was carried out for Fuseland working with Pearce Construction on behalf of the Avon County Council LEA.

Needlehole Forge B & B near Cheltenham has been working with apt marketing and pr to build a completely new website.
apt designed the layout and content, with guidance from owners Ann and Brian Partridge to produce an easy to use, attractive yet functional website. The previous site was very basic and needed updating.
Since the site has been rebuilt, Ann and Brian have had 80% more calls per month and nearly all of these have resulted in a booking.
Ann said “We had so many guests last weekend that we gave up our own bed to accommodate everyone. It is such a pleasure to have a house full and we are delighted with the new website.”
An easy to use content management system also enables Ann and Brian to update the website themselves, allowing them to add and amend details if necessary.
The clientele has since diversified with walkers, business travellers, sightseers and weekend tourists all staying for a night or two.
A warm welcome, fresh home-cooked food and the rolling countryside provide a beautiful and relaxing country retreat. Visit the new website at www.needleholeforge.co.uk
New Holland Construction has specified as standard AirBoss segmented tyres on all its new L160 skid steer loaders.
The AirBoss tyre is a unique puncture-proof, segmented system. The system comprises individual segments, attached to a specially tailored disc that can be fitted to an array of plant and heavy machinery vehicles.
Dave Goddard of AirBoss said “The biggest advantage of adopting an AirBoss tyre system is that, unlike current tyre options, if a segment does become damaged beyond repair the operator can safely unscrew the attaching bolt and replace the segment. The vehicle can then continue without costly downtime or callout charges.”
